Le plafond de Michelsen ?

Après plusieurs matchs convaincants, il est temps pour Michelsen de se mesurer au mur russe.

Almost nothing negative to say about Michelsen this week, he dragged himself out of a mess in the first round and then won his next two matches relatively easily. The conditions suit him perfectly and he’s dangerous when he gains confidence. We’ll see tomorrow if he’s ready to take on something really big, because yes, Medvedev is back at an excellent level. Despite losing the first set against an excellent Majchrzak, he bounced back well afterward. A few double faults and a bit of tilt though, he wasn’t as tense as last year but it wasn’t a walk in the park like his first two rounds. It’s really hard to get through his quality of defense and he’s serving well this week; it’s a version of him we like and he’s the logical favorite tomorrow. Michelsen will have to be inventive and ready to fight for a long time if he wants to get through. His game is more offensive than usual, that’s something he worked on during the preseason and basically he’s naturally good at it. He likes to come to the net and play fast, I think he has the weapons to bother Medvedev, but on the other hand, if this is prime Daniil, then he’s built to resist and disrupt exactly this type of player. Experience is on his side, but Michelsen is playing very well this week and could hang on before logically losing?
