Who can stop Collignon?

He is picking up right where he left off in 2025...

Both players are coming off very dominant wins - neither player has dropped a set yet in Brisbane. Nakashima (as usual) served excellently and was stronger on return and from the baseline against Halys, leading to a drama-free win. Collignon was able to play with too much intensity and youth against Dimitrov, who really was made to look old and slow yesterday.

Collignon and Nakashima are both very strong servers with good baseline games. Brandon is a bit more consistent with the second serve and first serve %, and overall, the more reliable server. Collignon's game is more energy-based; he plays with a lot of emotion, and it has really paid off lately. I have Collignon as the better "defender", also when it comes to turning defense into offense. Collignon was able to rush Dimitrov over and over, and while it will be harder against Nakashima due to his 2H backhand, it's a tactic that is really good against Nakashima (Halys was not able to do it whatsoever). I'm slightly worried that Collignon could have a drop-off after a big win against Dimitrov, especially if his serving dips (with double faults). Falling behind against Nakashima in these conditions can be costly, since he can be untouchable on serve! Still, I love Collignon's fighting spirit and higher peak level against a Nakashima who tends to be unable to match players that go beyond his consistent floor level. Well, that's the Nakashima that we've seen from the last years... could his offseason work finally allow him to compete with players "peaking" a bit more...?
